In the fall of 2007, the Academy of Cinema held a writers' workshop on
the Greek Island of Skopelos.

the feature film, entitled “Mamma Mia” on the island at the time. AOC students were able to observe the production
and meet various cast members, including; Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosman, Stellan Skarsgard, and Colin Firth. Stellan
Skarsgard gave a two hour talk on acting to AOC’s students. |
A three page feature
article on the workshop appeared in one of the leading Greek Sunday papers, featuring it in its magazine section.
Chris Canaan, a leading Hollywood screenwriter was the instructor for the writing portion of the workshop. In April of
2008, Mr. Canaan will return to Greece to continue holding various workshops for American and Greek acting students who want
